PARENTHESES is a Los Angeles-based production team founded by Nikki Martinez and Zane Abraham. Since 2017, we have collaborated on many different types of projects, ranging from comedic shorts to documentary features to branded web content for companies across the United States. We have always exemplified an affinity for jobs which challenge a traditional narrative or work to amplify new voices. With local production capabilities in Los Angeles, Texas, and Ohio, PARENTHESES continually works with an array of diverse individuals and businesses.

NIKKI MARTINEZ
CO-FOUNDER
Born and raised in the border city of El Paso, Texas, Nikki grew up with a fascination of horror movies which led her to pursue filmmaking in college. She graduated with a B.A. in Film Studies and minor in Video Production from The Ohio State University, which is also where she began her career as a filmmaker. Since then, Nikki has been committed to using media to uplift underrepresented voices which don’t usually get the spotlight.

ZANE ABRAHAM
CO-FOUNDER
Born in Baltimore, Maryland and raised in Los Angeles + central Ohio, Zane took a camera everywhere he went, leading him to a deep interest in filmmaking. A recent graduate of Ohio State University with a B.A. in Film and B.S. in Marketing, Zane has worked in production in LA since 2018. Both as a full-time employee for production companies and as a freelance Director of Photography, Zane has worked behind the camera on numerous award-winning narrative short films, music videos, and documentary projects.
